15 month year old toddler guess - what to do where to go?

Post by cinder » Tue, 27 Jan 2009 2:21 pm

Hello there..
Any advice on what to do and where to go to entertain a 15 month year old toddler?

I am single and know pretty well the partying scene in Singapore.. but not the toddlers' activites :) my niece is coming and I need to entertain her for a couple days. Any suggestion would be appreciated. And oh, we are staying nearby Dobby Ghaut and have no car. Anywhere can be easily reached by cab should be grand.

Thanks in advance!
Cinder.

My 15 month old enjoys anywhere where he can walk so we like the Zoo, the Botanic Gardens and the beaches at East Coast Park and Sentosa.

He's also had lots of fun at Fidgets at Turf City and on the Travelator thingy at the Aquarium.

If you get desparate you could always do a guest class at one of the baby gyms (I think most of them let you buy a one off class?)

just my 2 cents...

for a 15 month old, take her shopping... i mean shopping mall. it is nice and air-cond, no need to suffer the hot and humid weather for a baby. take her to all the toys department.

Thanks Isambard and Durain for the input..

Will Jacob Ballas park in Botanic Garden be an interesting place for 15 month old?
And I saw this play ground opposite Tanglin Mall just now when I passed that area (previously it was a post office, if i am not wrong).. does anybody know whether it is open for public or you have to be a member or something?

Thanks again for any info.
Cheers, Cinder

She'll love Jacob Ballas - it's open to the public - but check the days - I think it may be closed on Mondays. Just make sure you slather on the sunscreen & wear a hat - there's not a lot of shade. They also have a small water play area so if she likes the water bring a swim nappy & towel.
There is a tiny indoor playground at Alexandra road you can check out the info here (also closed on Mondays): http://www.playtime-recreations.com/
There is a small playground in the Forum shopping mall that is perfect for toddlers. It's on the 2nd floor near customer service. You need to buy a $10 membership for 2 years but definitely worth it if she is planning on coming back to visit.
The place across from Tanglin Mall is the Tanglin Tree restaurant. Great place to have a bite and there is a little playground.
At 15 months she'll probably just like being pushed around - and going to the park. If you're at Douby Ghaut - just take a stroll down to Paragon as well - there is another playground on the 5th floor, a smaller one around the back of the 5th floor by the VitaKids shops and also there is ELC where she can play with the toys.
