Actually Indian licenses do get converted easily.sundaymorningstaple wrote:Not quite. I believe you can only convert a foreign bike license if you have had it for at least 6 months in your home country 'before' arriving in Singapore.
Course I talking about western countries. Indian licenses they may not even recognize at all due to the notorious driving habits in India. But then again, they should fit right in here!
Converted to what? Anything other than 2B? In which case still need Basic Theory Test to get that (instead of the 2B Riders Theory Test).FaeLLe wrote:

If they get converted easily then why is the OP having such a hard time?FaeLLe wrote:Actually Indian licenses do get converted easily.sundaymorningstaple wrote:Not quite. There is no process to "convert" a 2b license into a 2a license. You either convinced them at the time you passed you BT test and you received your 2B license that you could get a higher class or you didn't.incognito6174 wrote:Hi guys
Thanks for the replies, I just applied for conversion of my Indian license to a Singapore license and got it. I am now eligible to convert my 2B license to a 2A license. Is it a matter of just application or are there tests to be given?
SSDC and some other websites aren't so clear on this.
No shit? 99.99% of Americans ride larger bikes. Still highly unlikely that a rider would be eligible for 2A.revhappy wrote:Ingonito, You are saying that you "Just" applied for 2B and got it converted. By "just" do you mean recently? Or have have you completed 1 yr on 2B and hence are eligible for 2A?
SE, 99.99% of Indians ride motorcycles < 200 CC, so very unlikely that Indians would be eligible for 2A straight away.
There is a test in CDC to move from a 2B to 2A and then to a Full class 2 bike license.Strong Eagle wrote:There is no process to "convert" a 2b license into a 2a license. The only process available would be to appeal... good luck.
I converted my Indian Licence to SG one 6 months back. The process is pretty straightforward. pass the BTT, then proceed to the counter and give them your Indian licence. get it converted to 2B. If you are Indian, there is no way the ladies at the counter are gonna give you a Class 2. If you are from the states, there is a good chance they'll give you a Class 2, UK too if you have the UK full licence. If you have owned anything above 600 cc in India for more than a couple of years, then you need to show the insurance papers, and there is a distant possibility that they may give you a class 2.incognito6174 wrote:Hi guys

But you need to take up the damn riding practical and theory courses and appear for the tests for converting to class 2A and then again for class 2 and spend about 250-400$ each time.x9200 wrote:Yes, with 1 year waiting/riding period between each of the sub-classes so starting from 2B you can get the unrestricted class not faster than in 2 years and few months.FaeLLe wrote: There is a test in CDC to move from a 2B to 2A and then to a Full class 2 bike license.
