That is a fantastic ad! People stopping in their tracks when the girls pass, I've seen that in my lifetime with the SQ female FAs as well.

Branson adapted a winning formula and made it his own. Smart fella.

Have just been reading that Branson was/is keen to buy out SQ's stake in Virgin Atlantic. I've always liked his colourful branding of slogans and images on his planes. They're as colourful and quirky as him.
