Living in Singapore

Post by guell » Sat, 17 Jan 2009 9:43 pm

I'm a lady who will working in Singapore. I need to rent a 2 bed room flat as I don't want to share with others. My office is located in the centre of the town, but I don't mind to live a bit far away from my office as the rental cost will be lower. If my renatal budget is not more than S$1500 per month, than any suggestion for me?

Thanks.

Not easy. Look for HDBs.

yeah, you'd need to live somewhere near suburbs, usually 45 mins away from town.

HDB is okay at that price, try Kovan area, you should get a 2 bedroom apartment! MRT and shopping mall, 20 to 25 minutes to City, Good social facilities in the area

Dear all,

If I need a 2 bedrooms HDB, other than Kovan, any other suggestion. If S$1500 per month is not easy to have a 2 bedrooms HDB, then what will be the rental cost for a master bedroom with own toilet?

If I rent a room and share with others, would it be safe in Singapore. Should I find such HDB through website or agent?

Thanks a lot.

It is quite safe unless you live with a looney, what most people on the budget do is rent a whole flat and sublease/share other tenants which they can choose whom they can clique with.

I believe you'd feel safer/more comfortable if you can find a person who wants the same as you and split the cost of the rental.

of course not everything is a foolproof plan.

Thank your Blitz.

Could you suggest the rental cost for a master room for condo and HDB?

unless you *must* have 2 bedrooms ... There are quite a few one-room apartments/studios that seem to be going for around $1500 ... chck craigslist , . and other websties ...
