New Type of Resume?

Post by fated82 » Thu, 15 Jan 2009 10:44 pm

It has been reported that people are using social media platforms such as facebook, LinkedIn or even twitter to get a job. Do you think it will happen in Singapore?

Do you think the employers will check your facebook account and LinkedIn account before hiring you?

I always google all people who ask for jobs... interesting stuff sometimes comes up.

But, if you want to work for me, you will be formal enough to submit a CV and cover letter... just because that is the minimum you need to show you can actually follow orders.

Curious as I am I just googled my name... Now I wonder if its good or bad if the first 100 results have nothing to do with you at all :)

Social network is still not well accepted as reference to apply job yet in Singapore, I worked in Singapore as a executive search consultant before and most of the recruiter in Singapore is still prefer something formal, result driven experience, not interested in your social life.

we hired recently, and our final choice was determined by resume and interview. googling never came into question.

I can imagine it's pretty common, though.

It's clearly obvious that fated82 is advertising his own service has a social media marketing website! Although blogging is no doubt a good way to advertise, you still need something of interest for your target audience, any significant traffic to a website, can be utilised into a money making advertising machine, providing it's not over done!

Viral marketing is an excellent way to move your products, which can be done in several ways. No doubt fated82 will explain it, if asked!

Although if he can provide me with a viral bot, to target the the customers i need, I will be very interested. Any offers out there of a viral bot. can PM me
