Malaysia islands with a baby?

Post by natalyakir » Thu, 15 Jan 2009 12:41 pm

Hi. I've been to Rawa Island with a 6 months old, then again with a 11 months old baby. Now my parents come to visit us and we're planning to go on holiday. But! I don't want to go to Rawa for 3rd time, as I want some new experience. What I am looking for:
- not long flight/car ride/boat ride from Singapore
- white sand beach and coral reef close to the beach
- decent food

All views would be apprecited, esp. if somebody would recommend an island similar to Rawa

Nikoy island seems to be a bit pricey and houses they have are not what we are looking for. Sentosa is no joke, its see water is dreadful, I am afraid to let my baby even go into water there. Pulau Ubin? It's Indonesia, besides it's very near other islands where water is not that clean. Any other suggestions? :)

redang island in malaysia? my husband went there with my SIL/her kids and really enjoyed it. the pictures of the beach were amazing. they did a direct flight with berajaya air (http://www.berjaya-air.com/) from selatar airbase. i think they only fly there from march - september.

I would support Durain in suggesting Nikoi - a fantastic place to visit and altogether in different league than Rawa especially when it comes to service and the food. The beach houses on Nikoi are huge very tastefully done and all have direct access to the beach. In terms of cost I dont think it is really any much more than Rawa.
