Kareena, would you like to have sex every 4yrs? How easy would that be for you? I say 4 yrs because when I was interviewing helpers the majority had been at least 4yrs without going home because their previous employer did not pay the airfare for a trip home because they didn't re-sign with them for another 2yrs contract. Also, some still can't afford to go home, even if the airfare is paid. Many of the married ladies just deal with not having sex for so long, but if a woman is single, should she live like a nun the rest of her life? Be realistic! Just talk to your helper, provide condoms and birth control pills if you are so worried - don't keep a woman under lock and key because you want to prevent her from having sex at all. There are employers who don't even want helpers to have friends, no phones allowed, no off days - complete control over another human being like they are a piece of property.

obviously, no one is locking them up and i would/ could not do that either. If they have bf's i wouldnt know about that either...its their own choice of course...but what i mean is even with protection...those undesirable things can happen so its hard but its better for them to abstain...and its not impossible, because in my culture a man and a woman are supposed to wait till marriage, as it makes a lot of sense. i would of course explain all this to her but ultimately its her choice, i cant force her to do anything.
Its not like shes my slave so she cant have boyfriends...but theoretically speaking even if it were my own daughter i would tell her the same thing.
And FYI, my part timer really loves me as i treat her very well...so its not like i treat my helpers like slaves... ;)

No it's not. But it's way way out in front of whatever's next most important!

I'm not sure whether to feel sorry for your husband or think he's lucky. :?

Sorry Kareena, I realize with my wording that it looked like I was saying you were keeping your helper under lock and key. I just meant employers in general shouldn't do that.

baby, your typical ozzie belligerent stereotype is shining through in all it's glorious belligerency! You shouldn't be posting when you've got a snoot full! Nobody in the right mind would post like that if they were sober. Really, you should have a read of your last couple of posts, you are really starting to sound like a stereotypical whanker from down under.

maid murdered

Post by Kareena » Thu, 12 Feb 2009 2:15 pm

anybody has thoughts on the maid whose bf murdered her recently?..
still think its a good idea for them to have bfs?...FYI most of these so called "boyfriends" are also already married with kids. What if one of these psycho obsessive bfs of your maid comes to your house and does something to ur kids or ur maid while u're not there?...
this case is also similar to another 1 in which a FDW murdered another maid because they were both seeing the same man.

Well, people should keep in mind that teenage children have had wacko boyfriends and girlfriends who have wreaked havoc in some families, and even married couples have abused and killed each other and the children. So, employers can worry about their safety from the maids and their boyfriends, but maybe the maids have cause to worry about their safety from the employers too?

Ahh, what's the point. I'm not going to discuss this topic anymore, because some of the views on domestic workers in this country really frustrate me.

batgirl, I know what you are saying! Funny how they conveniently forget about the locals who don't murder but instead torture their maids for months & years on end and actually DO lock them up and don't feed them, burn them with irons, pinch their bodies, and worse. Violence usually begats violence. Seems, if I remember correctly, some of the cases in the past here came about because of being tortured by the "ma'ams & sirs" that the maids finally came unglued and did serious mayhem.

baby,

Unfortunately you still sound like a wanker (with or without an 'h') and you are still belligerent and crude, and have a foul mouth and are therefore a disgrace to what ever country you are from. I've only heard that kind of language from sailors and sheilas. With your foul mouth, I really feel sorry for any child you may produce given that they will be exposed to that kind of environment for 18 years. It's bound to have a detrimental effect on their well being during their formative years.

well some are truly mistreated but some of these maids also make it up, because they want to change their employer. And if they are being tortured or mistreated they should go to the agency asap. Why do they stay with an employer who does that to them?..Would you stay 2 years or even 6 months with someone who hits you or whatever and then suddenly go out and say oh so and so really tortured me for like 2 years so now i've decided to change/ go back?...I would not even stay one day.
So we do have to assume some of them over react / lie. I have first hand experience with one such person. Of course employers aren't sent from above but some of these maids are also quite cunning. There are all kinds of people out there so please dont generalize that all employers torture/rape/mistreat their maids. I know some maids who have come on to the employer and asked him that he should not tell his wife. And when the man said that he's going to tell they threatened they would go to mom and say that they were mistreated/beaten up.
