new job in Singapore: I need your advice..thanks

Im obviously new here, my first post!

technically im not an expat yet, though I've been offered a job and I accepted.
My application for an employment pass has also been approved.

Now my problem is this: we all know about the financial crisis and I've been hearing that lots of companies are laying off, and im pretty sure that the latest ones in will be the first to go. So I'm having doubts about taking the job at all.

they say that the layoffs are industry specific, my employer will be Marcus Evans Singapore, their offer was good but I heard the turn over in that company is pretty fast too.

I need you expert advices, what do you think should I do? Im genuinely afraid of messing up my first opportunity in Singapore and I really want to work there.

Thank you so much!

No risk, no reward. If you want it, then do it. You can always do something else if it doesn't work out.

There is no such thing as certainty or security, anywhere. You're asking people to tell you it will be OK, and they don't know anymore than you do.
