Taiwan Exports Down

Post by ksl » Fri, 09 Jan 2009 3:09 am

For those interested Taiwan exports for December are down 41.9% main Countries USA and China

http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid= ... refer=asia

UK interest rates, the lowest in 315 years, at 1.5% BBC website.

I'm dealing in Taiwan, and it's in my interest to make some judgement calls, waiting on the side lines to buy. Although the data coming out seem like it's not a good time, so I'll wait for Taiwan to drop below 4000, I'm setting my sights on a drop to 3500 in the coming months.

Though the graph shows upward trend since mid november, my instincts say it will drop to 3500 and below this year. based on the last 8 years of shock surprises around the world, I'm not comfortable buying just now for the long haul.

Correct many have moved production to the mainland, although high technology like semi conductors, have been restricted, due to the sensitivity of the technology. They the companies want to move completely, but the Taiwan government are not in agreement, that i know of, on specialty products.

Bicycles! Giant probably the favoruite oldie in Taiwan, I have the iguana, which i rarely use in Singapore.

Had Taiwanese biscuits today with my coffee  Nice and cool here at 16c
