Looking for a traditional China Chinese Family

Post by hebe » Thu, 08 Jan 2009 9:53 pm

Hi

I'm doing a Chinese New Year newspaper special on traditional reunion dinner dishes. Looking for a traditionl family from China who cooks their own reunion dinner. Would be great if the family has a special traditional dish which they must cook every year.

Any help with contacts would be greatly appreciated!

:???: I thought 75% are Chinese in Singapore, what are locals? Singapore leprechauns :) Mainland Chinese always had mess tins and queued up or went out for a meal, when i was last there, some still had ration cards from the work cadre.

I had word yesterday from China, that people are suffering quite bad, some earning 4000 a month with a degree, that's around 850$ Sing, they told me they need around 6000 to live, and everyone is on the take. That is to say civil service jobs are the best, and very corrupt, apparently everyone wants to work in the civil service.

Its getting more and more expensive and unstable, i would think.

Actually we're also covering the different dialect groups in Singapore too. I'm in charge of looking for China immigrants. But if you do know any traditional Chinese families, do let me know.
Thanks!
