Sweet Singlehood!

Post by ozchick » Thu, 08 Jan 2009 4:35 pm

Well the rooster and I are about to part ways but he seems in a hell of a hurry to actually vacate the hen-house....why is it so hard for some people to see that just cos good love's gone bad doesn't mean that all contact should cease then and there. Mm...just goes to show the depth of friendship to be incongruous with sentiments previously expressed...sigh...

Oh sweet 'Singlehood' how I've missed you! Take me in your arms and let's have a wee drink together!
Yeah and let's start watching TV again! Yeah and let's get some real sleep and rejoice in the sounds of silence and let's get these added kilos OFF so that I am back to my perfect self again! 8-)
And dear, sweet 'Singlehood'- keep me safe from the opposite gender. May their attempts to mingle with me prove fruitless. Me mixing with them is a real bad combo! And long may I remain a 'sick perfectionist'! Apparently that's why I'm single again! :P

Oh Ozchick,

I was so happy to see your nick back on this forum, and then sad to see this post. Life is a roller coaster isn't it? At least your head is still firmly screwed on and not falling to bits as some others do in these circumstances. The heartaches, they will come and go for a while, I suppose.

More later, I'm just finishing at work and going home now so I'll check in again soon. Just wanted to leave this with you for now:

Here here! :D
No more waking up at 5 am to drive out to the country house to chop wood and collect berries coz someone basically EXPECTED it, no more verbal abuses, no more mood changes, no more picking up stuff at the groceries a few miles OFF the regular track from work to home, wasting hours in cold misery, no more eating with the elbows off the table coz it was "barbaric", no more misery! Soldiers fight and DIE for freedom, and some of us are so darned happy to toss it away at a moment's notice just for some overlord from the deepest pits of hell...

Thanks WIMH and T.H. I'm doing fine but it's nice to know people care anyway. Feel a great sense of freedom and peace coming over me....yep-I'm breathing again! :)

Good on you, girl.

I'm still not sure if any man is worth the price of a quiet, peaceful bedroom...

Then you've never been in a good old noisy raucous bedroom yet! :P

Well Forks and all, breaking news- he just can't leave me as it happens! Gee I'm good!

Ooh I was so close to being 'out of here' and now we're trying to sort through the issues. One of these is MY need for space. We're sorting through this and are staying under the one roof and I reckon it should be possible to have the best of both worlds, being single and being in a relationship. We've both decided to actually define what we think is a workable compromise towards having the ideal situation. So far we're agreeing on nearly all of this. I may even be going on a holiday alone without feeling like the bad guy! Maybe others here could outline success stories of the platform I'm describing? I'd certainly like some examples on what can be done.

How about trying out what writer Robert Parker and his wife do? He's a loner who prefers early nights. She loves to entertain till the wee hours. They seem to have managed to get the best of both worlds!
