Silica Gel defhumidifers

Post by Guowei58 » Sat, 03 Jan 2009 3:30 pm

Hi, I'm moving out of Singapore and need to store some clothe and books. Can anyone tell me where I can find some Silica gel dehumidifiers to throw into these boxes? thanks.

How long are you going to be leaving them in storage? Unless they are completely airtight, the silica gel will get saturated very quickly and then will become useless. It's reusable if you spread it out on a pan and bake in a oven for a while but the key is maybe using it plus those vacuum seal storage bags that use an vacuum cleaner to suck the majority of air out first and thereby avoiding the humid air getting in.

maybe you can try hungry hippo (from ntuc or cold storage)? or if you really need packs, try photography shops like cathay photo or alan photo in peninsula plaza/funan or simlim.
