Changed job before 180 days - tax question

Post by Bakulii » Fri, 02 Jan 2009 6:06 pm

Hi All,

Happy New Year everyone!

i started working in Singapore 1st July 2008 (on EP) but quit and joined another company in Nov.

As I was not working in Spore for more than 183 days, I had to pay the flat rate tax of 15% before I left the previous company.

My question: Since my total working days in 2008 is >183 days (ie previous + present company), will the Tax Dept re-calculate my tax based on the normal tier and make me top up only the difference for Tax Year 2008?

Thanks for your time in answering this quick question!

Quick answer.... Yes. And refund the difference.
