There are some in and around Geylang (not dirty ones either. From memory on Geylang Road between Lor 32 and 34. In Thailand I have had massages at all hours and they have all been above board.

There are places that are open till late the same way there are 24hrs eating areas here. Places that target people who are outing at night to nightclubs or bars.

These places would offer foot + leg and/or shoulder massages. It would normally just be a room with rows of chairs so you can expect people talking. There is nothing sexual about these places and are decent enough.

Its true that majority of spas close by 9pm, but that would be your typical spa where they do all sorts of body treatments.

For the people that are looking for a decent spa that closes late, try spa esprit's 'house' at dempsey. I saw from their website recently that every thursday they close at 2am!

Thanks for the info, Blue Sapphire. I checked out the House website, and they're open till 1am from Thurdays to Saturdays. Dempsey is an upmarket area so definitely above board.

Where are these other 24-hour places you mentioned? I know of plenty round-the-clock eating places, but never heard of round-the-clock spas.

Most, but not all, taxi drivers do as well. Or at least they are supposed to. Course in October I asked one to take me from Serangoon North to the Westin Fairmont at Raffles City and he didn't know where it was so "but not all".

SMS, that hotel has changed names so many times even I can't keep up! Most of us know the building but maybe not the latest name. I still call them the Westin Stamford and Westin Plaza, and I'm younger than most taxi drivers.

I think Blue Sapphire is right. You needn't worry too much (unless your BF comes home with genital warts) because:

a. Singapore has a thriving spa industry, and spas are everywhere here. Even women go quite often. 'Going for a massage' usually means just that and nothing else.

b. You've heard from other posters that some decent spas do open till late, and even the ones in red-light districts like Geylang are apparently innocent if the man so wishes.

c. Another poster has said that spa-going is part of the Japanese culture too, so again there's nothing suspicious there. Your BF is just making himself at home in Singapore.

All in all, no evidence from the posts so far to suggest he is cheating at this point. Innocent until proven guilty. Relax, enjoy your pregnancy, and get a HIV test every year.

Wind in my hair, you can also try Comfortspace HelioAsia at Paragon (http://www.helioasia.com). They close at 11/12 depending on the day. Its also over board. I've gone there several times and they have alot of treatments. I like their lounge area and whirlpools.

I havent tried House yet but keen to do so soon. A friend has tried and she likes it. So far those are the only 2 places I've found that closes late being proper spas.

As for 24 hrs places. I saw one by boat quay. And there are some by chinatown and geylang. Although I have never tried these places. I prefer the overboard sort.

I have also tried helioasia.. or rather.. was dragged by my gf. She love massage and I hate the pain. But it is very decent. Even got movie in the lounge.

I think give your guy the benefit of the doubt. Asians love massage. And singapore has a very strict rules about it so those hanky panky are limited to certain locations only.

For Bangkok, it was my impression, based on very limited experience, so if I am wrong, apologies.

As for Japan though, soapland - oh yeah, absolutely, thus the comment that there are also plenty of places to go for sex in Japan too. Kabukicho is the most famous area in this regard. It is not really a grey area in Japan though, massage places are everywhere, and they are just for massage. There are a number of soapland areas, also referred to as "pink business", but these places are mostly concentrated in specific areas.

Oh yeah! He's such a tower of pain each time he's here, he's in dire need of THERAPUTIC massage to assauge his wounds right away while thinking loving thoughts of you with unchained melodies going off in the background!
I say if he has such a bad habit, just make sure he comes back with a blood test done by your local labs, and whatever the results, lay off touching him for six months just to be sure. Come to think of it, is revenue accrued there in such establishments taxable, GST certified or otherwise??
