Ive just been to Viet Nam for 10 days, basically Saigon and Hue, and I didnt see a singe McDonalds or Burger King! Am I blind or is this fact and there are no outlets, and if, for what reason? Is there just funny Ga Ran Kentucky?
Cheers and curious to learn!

Hi Seba,
Confirm that there is not yet McDonald and Burger King in Viet Nam. But I think they should be planning to come, just like KFC and BBQ - have gradually settled in. To my Asian burger standard, BBQ - the Korean fastfood chain' burgers are good.
Or maybe you'd like to try our Vietnamese burger style - recommended in some travel books, served in baquette bread with butter, fried pork, sliced cucumber, veggie, chilli sauce...

There's no "Vietnamese burger". It's a French style meat SANDWICH with Asian ingredients.

...as I have worked with McD's in Asia.
McDonalds is not in Vietnam and have not heard any rumors that they are actively pursuing it.

Had that sandwich many times, 1000 times better than anything at a McD's or KFC. (Making me a bit hungry thinking about it.)
Never understood the attraction to American fast food, it's the worst excuse for food, in my opinion, on earth.

In most Vietnamese cities, you can get food faster, healthier, and cheaper than McDonald's. And too my taste, MUCH better as well.
The main concern is the random diarrhea afterward
