How to keep toddlers safe in taxis?

Post by Blue Sapphire » Wed, 24 Dec 2008 2:39 am

I used the maxi cosi cabriofix for my child when he was under 1 yrs old whenever I travelled in a taxi/our car with him. In our car we have the maxi cosi tobi now. But there are times when I have to take a taxi with him and after 10 minutes he wants to jump around and touch everything. My child is 20 months now. Too old for something like the maxi cosi cabriofix and too young for some of the child restraint systems out there.

What are mums with kids these age do when taking taxis to keep them safe?

I bought my daughter a RideSafer a year ago when she was 27 months old through Amazon.com. It comes in 2 sizes (small & large) and meets US safety requirements. You thread the car seat throught the vest and it keeps her securely in place, she has never squirmed out of it. My other daughter I still have strapped into the Baby Bjorn. Number three on the way now so getting a car.
