Moving to Australia, Brisbane as an individual.

I read most of the post and its about family moving to Australia. How about an individual? I have a friend live in Brisbane whom migrate to Australia with her family. I would love to migrate to Australia as an individual. My question is, is it possible? How long should I wait? Is there any useful site that can help me? Btw, im 20 and I would love to work or set up my own business there..
