Moving from the US to Sing - How expensive is Kids Twin Bed?

Post by rajushah » Fri, 12 Dec 2008 11:42 am

Hi,

We are moving in the next 1-2 months. I was wondering how expensive is a kid's twin bed in Singapore. Typical cost of one in the US is US$4000-500. Is it cheaper there?

It totally depends. At IKEA, the cheapest piece of cr*p can be S $79 or you can go to a furniture store and pay a few thousand. Really depends on what you're after. Keep in mind the sizes of bed are different here than in the US. Bedding is different too.

Where the heck do you shop in the US? Wow, I bought my daughter's bed from a great show in Washington DC for $500--and I thought that was a lot. You can easlity get a kids twin bed for under $1000 complete with mattress here.

Mostly the mattress that costs, bed frames are relatively cheap! But expect the sales and marketing team, to have a mattress on that pumps up the profit margins. You can also find expensive bed frames, with cheap crappy mattresses, again profit margins are what shops are looking at.

Just make sure you get a good mattress for a good nights sleep! You can always do without a frame, or probably make one better.
