TOYS R US - WHICH IS THE BIGGEST STORE?

Post by Bocat32 » Wed, 03 Dec 2008 6:18 pm

Does anyone know which is the biggest Toys R Us store in Singapore?

My hubby is going to take the kids out on Sunday so I can go and do the Christmas present shop and I don't want to be running here, there and everywhere so if I can get most things in one shop all the better!

Are there any other toy retailers in Singapore - around the same size as Toys R Us?

having got a tape measure to measure them up, but i would say the one in suntec. and if you couldnt find anything there, you can pop down to carrefour and check their toys department too.

Thanks for that. I've only been here for a couple of months - so still sussing out where places are.

I've been to the one in Suntec so at least I know where to go!

I suspect that the one at Vivo City is the largest. At least during the week, it's the most pleasant one to walk around, with fairly wide aisles, and good sightlines. On the weekend, it's a madhouse. . .

As the father of a four-year old, I'm a regular card-carrying source of income for many of the local TRUs.

United Square is tiny.
Paragon is small.
Forum is a little bigger.
Suntec is bigger still--perhaps the biggest. . .

But I would lean toward Vivo City. . .

Hi Jim

I know where Vivocity is too! I'm obviously getting around better than I thought!

Unfortunately I'll have to go at the weekend as hubby is working during the week and we don't have anyone else to watch the kids. I don't mind - I can do it in a quarter of the time on my own!

I have a four year old too (and a 14 month old) so I know exactly how you feel...

i was going to say the one at vivo as well - but i've never been to the one at suntec. i was just in the one at the forum this afternoon for a post-traumatic haircut reward (the 4 year old, not me) and there was a pretty big selection - but i think the one at vivo is nicer to walk around.

So its not just my four year old who has that reaction to a haircut? My hubby cuts his (I wouldn't put a hairdresser through it) and I'm surprised we weren't arrested for the screams that were coming from this house a few weeks ago!

Thanks for the info about TRUs.

good to know it's not just me! people were stopping to stare at the kid crying with a mouth full of sweets, tom & jerry turned on full blast and the mirror covered with a gown so he didn't have to see himself. not too mention no one can mention the haircut for days or he yells "i'm only handsome with my big hair!"

have a great time shopping!!!!

I know I shouldn't laugh - but that is soooooo funny!

My wee one loves his hair once its cut - but getting there is so bad that we only cut it about 3 or 4 times a year. He has "big" hair too!

Speaking of Haircuts

Post by JimH5 » Wed, 03 Dec 2008 10:13 pm

Speaking of haircuts, if you ever see a little girl who looks more and more like Kurt Cobain, I'll be the guy pushing her stroller.

We have yet to get her a Singapore haircut. We had one in the States in January, two more over there in June and July, and we'll have another one in a couple weeks when we return for Christmas.

Some battles I choose to fight, and others I choose to ignore.

So what I've been spending on overpriced toys, I've been saving at the hair salon. And my daughter's locks will soon resemble Captain Caveman.

What is it with our kids and haircuts?!?!?!

I don't remember having all that carry on when I was wee.

I thought I was the only person who still remember Captain Caveman - nice to know I'm not alone Jim!

I like the one at Forum, I feel they have a larger selection and are better stocked.

If I had seen your post earlier I would have mentioned that there was a toysrus sale last 1 & 2 at the Plaza Singapura atrium!

I have a friend who used to work at Toys R Us. He told me the biggest store in Singapore is at Vivo City.

No offence to the poster who mentioned heading down to Carrefour. Personally, I feel Carrefour toy products are lame.
