Moving to Brisbane

Post by SingIsSung » Tue, 02 Dec 2008 7:39 pm

I am moving to Brisbane shortly and want to ship some cartons of books and clothes etc there before I leave. Any suggestions on how best to do this? Is anyone moving there soon, and has space for some of my boxes in their container? TIA

Moving just a few cartoons of books and clothing shouldn't be expensive. When you are getting a quote on your relocation, its a good idea to know exactly how many book boxes and tea chest boxes you have so that you can compare the quotes amongst the removalists out there. Most large Singaporean removal companies would have associated partners in Australia.

When taking out insurance on an item which is valuable, the removalist must pack it, otherwise insurance won't cover it.

Also you must advise that on your transit times, ie faster transit = more $$

No liquids, food items and the other usual items drugs, firearms, extreme adult movies etc....

If you really have a few boxes only, it is cheapest to send your items via courier, fedex or DHL. Pack your items well, use sufficient newspaper for breakable items to absorb any shocks and then they will be able to send it via air. I think for a few boxes you will spend between 700-1500 SGD.
