Possible to import some tinned meat?

Post by alex9999 » Sun, 30 Nov 2008 5:50 am

Hi,
I will be located to Singapore in a few weeks. As a good German, I cannot do without my favorite sausage from my favorite local butcher (I am not joking...). This sausage is tinned so one may compare with corned beef to get the question right.
So, I wonder if it is possible to get some kilos of this fine stuff into my container shipped to Singapore. I have already checked the customs page but all I found there seems to cater for professional importers.

Does anybody has any experience with that?

Thanks for any serious advice, Alex.

We brought in a few boxes of tinned food when we arrived without any problems, and since then managed to convince our local deli to stock them.

Have you checked the local German supermarket here? Once you get here try the Swiss butchery they make great sausages, if you have a chat with them they might be able to make the same ones as your local butcher.

...or in other words, up to 5 kg of any meat product per person is fine from most European countries, including Germany.
