They probably think they come pre-canned on the tree!

Blue - was just over at our local Cold Storage and again checked - $7.00 for 100gms of black olives, same for green. These are not canned - they spoon them into an environmentally unfriendly plastic tub for you.

You could also try Jones the Grocer or Culina, both at Dempsey Rd. Or Cold Storage Gourmet at 6th Ave has a decent selection. They're all pickled though (brine), I've never seen fresh ones (as in fresh off the trees and unsalted) here though!
