Writer looking for Malaysian workers in Singapore

Post by fonger » Tue, 25 Nov 2008 4:40 pm

Hi everyone:

I'm a writer for a Malaysian publication and am looking to interview a Malaysian who is working in Singapore or was recently working in Singapore.

Basically, I'm following up on the issue that M'sian workers may be retrenched if the Singaporean economy doesn't recover from its recession.

I'm looking for someone willing to share their experiences, and talk about prospects for other Malaysians.

Let me know if you're upset with the way things have worked out, or if you're worried about your prospects, or if you think the whole notion is ridiculous because everything's going great and the media has blown everything out of proportion.

Please let me know if you're interested.

Thanks.

Why don't you go down to one of the Shipyards or Factories during lunch hour. (A kopitiam would be a good idea). There you will have hundreds of Malaysians to interview. Unless you are only looking for Malaysians with a higher level of education. IF that is the case then your article will be skewed and not even approaching anything of substance.

WHatever that is reported on the star newspaper on the number of ppl got retrenchend , i mean malaysian are a bit exxagerated. I dont think the gov are well prepared to help us malaysians to secure a job back home then......Retrenchment are a norm for people who work in the banking/manufacturing industry. But we all have confidence the gov would handle it quite well.
