Anyone living in Changi/ Upper East Coast?

Post by greta3913 » Mon, 24 Nov 2008 10:50 pm

Hi,

I am a recent arrival to Singapore and will be working near Expo MRT soon. I am looking for a 2/ 2+1 bedroom condo around the Changi area (or Upper East Coast near MRT).

I have seen an apartment I liked at Changi Green (about 1,000 - 1,100 sq m) and have been quoted rental of $2.2K (partially furnished) or $2.4K.

Is this a reasonable range? I've also heard that the rates for a similar apartment at Changi Court (pretty much right next door) are only about $1.8K tops.

Any comments & suggestions would be much appreciated - many thanks in advance!

its a nice condo...far from shops tho..you will need to take a cab or bus to nearest shops near Bedok food center...
Its never walking distance in Singapore....coz of the rain or humidity ... either ways you will reach work soaked...

Have you considered Simei? On one side you could be close to a bus going past Expo or in the centre you will have the MRT and all the shops/restaurants you want at Eastpoint Mall.
Everyone is entitled to my opinion

Thanks for the heads up! :D

Rich D, I have looked in Simei but unfortunately didn't really like the surrounds or any of the options that were available. I ended up getting a 2+1 for $2K fully furnished per month.

As for getting to work soaked...well hopefully my hours will mean I can beat the rain or the worst of the humidity! Either that or have to invest in a strong can of deodorant (amongst other things :P )

Hi greta,

Can you tell me what condo building this is in?

I'm really interested in what kind of condo is going for $2k.

Thanks!

+1 is a maids room, it's usually very small and behind the kitchen or in an odd place, so could probably only be used for storage or maid. When I say small - it's probably smaller than you are thinking :)

thank you, I was not sure, I appreciate it.

Are you sure it is smaller than what I'm thinking?

It could possibly be the size of my current room!!

Anyone know the dimensions of the +1 rooms?

Less than 10'x10' ? :)

Hi stacey

we have a maid room in our condo (Tropical Spring in Simei). The surface area in the room is about 1.5 meters x 1.5 meters. So it is great if your maid is short.

There is a combined toilet/shower next to the room. But judging from the 'standing area' in this toilet/shower, they expected the maids to be quite petite...

They did not think I might want to hire an au pair from the Netherlands...
