Fine with me.. haha.. in factm it's my joy to speak about it. I'll start:

okie.. Erm.. Just to share with you guys. I've done some research on this. In case any one out there other than Ian wants to get a digital camera, If you want good picstures for your bucks, get one that has a large lens. The smaller ones, like my previous minolta can take sub standard picstures and low quality video compared to my current cheaper, lighter yet more powerful camera. Other factors making cameras good: Larger LCD. As a thumb of rule, a really good camera is never quelled with a disproportionate amount of functions. Cameras with extendable lenses produce much better videos and picstures. Finally, to clear the doubt of picture vs videos (a restricted comparision between minolta cams and Sony cams): For minolta cams, still pics have functions which it's video cannot have. Withal, it's video does not have any functions to control. Sony cams allow greated control, as it's video and still pics have the same functions to control. Ironically, minolta allows zoom in while filming, while sony doesnt allow such luxury. Sony is the only camera which converts it's videos directly to Mpeg. Other cams converts to .MOV, a less popular file type which opens only with Apple(Quick time) player. Other Info: shutter speed etc is always confused with how videos are affected. In actual fact, both has nothing to do with each other. Vid quality is determined by it;s VIDEO resolution and not Mega pixel. Sony cams have up to 640X320 vids. minolta s at 320X180: Ian, that's why you saw the vid quality as so terrible. minolta has a special fn of web cam, but is unadviced to use, as the camera heats up too much. Infact, i dont feel my sony cam heating. But my minolta was hot in about 3 mins. The catch: Sony cams uses only Sony memory cards. Minolta and panasonic etc uses SD cards. However, Both cards can print pics at photo shops. My general advice: Get a cam that uses AA size batt. Li-ion might seem tempting, but unless you want to purchase a li-ion batt at double the cost 3 years down the rd, dont get li ion batts. Many other factors put li ion down..

Feel free to e-mail me at: solaces@tennis.com, should you have any other enquiries.

thanks
