Turkey Deep Fryer

Postby Strong Eagle » Thu, 20 Nov 2008 11:13 am

I'd like to do a deep fried Cajun turkey for Thanksgiving. Does anyone know where to find:

a) Large 28 quart or so tall pot.
b) Gas ring.
c) Peanut oil or similar - 5 gallons
d) Turkey injector fo filling with spices
e) Thermometer for oil temp.
f) A rack to hold the turkey?

TIA

You can find the large capacity burner here......they may well be able to point you to a place that provides the cast iron burner frame as a whole unit.

But probably the easiest way to locate it all fast is to go to any indian stall or hawker centre and asking them where they get their cooking equipment & large pots. Tekka would be a good start but I think is under construction. You may well be able to find the stuff somewhere in Mustafa as well or at least the right direction to head.

The pot can definitely be found in Chinatown at Sia Huat. As well as the thermometer and the syringe I would think. There must be some websites that tell you how Rube Goldberg a turkey deep fryer? Any Cold Storage has peanut oil.

Found most everything I need at Temple Street in Chinatown at one of the kitchen shops. Hard to get the perfect holder for the turkey but I have a spit with a hook that will do. High BTU burner way expensive... will take a while to heat the oil but it will get there with the one I got. Got a flavor/marinade injector... ancient and last one they had.

Oil at NTUC. Thanks for the help, SMS and r.n.t!

Deep fried turkey in Singapore! YUM! I humbly say that I make the best.

Cheers.

I used to go to a party up in the Woodlands where they deep fried 15 turkeys. Alas, they have moved... :-|
