Arts & Craft Supplies/ shop?

Post by PhoenixT » Tue, 18 Nov 2008 9:27 pm

Hi all-

Can someone point me to a shop that sells a good variety of arts and craft supplies? I can't seem to find construction paper anywhere!

Want to do a few things with the kids for the holidays and needs things like pipe cleaners, pom-pom balls, glitter, construction/felt/foam paper, paints, etc. I've found some items in stationary shops but they don't have everything I need or at prices I don't want to pay.

Something like JoAnn's, Ben Franklin, Michael's in the US. TIA

We bought some colored paper a couple of weekends ago at IKEA. It's not really construction paper, but more like a hybrid between true construction paper and colored office paper. A good sized pack was around $10.

There's also a very large art supplies store at Ngee Ann City, above Kinokuniya (4th or 5th floor). And another smaller shop on the same floor in the same tower. Not sure if they have the standard construction paper, but they seem to have every other possible supply you could want.

I have yet to find a true Michael's substitute, but you could also do an Amazon order. . .

Good Luck!

i second Spotlight, Plaza Singapura for sure! i just bought a bag of styrofoam ornaments (with the ribbon attached) and the kids painted them and then glittered them. every year i say NO MORE GLITTER (as i'm still finding it stuck in the rug)... and every year out it comes! :D

also try DAIKO on the 4th floor of plaza singapura - absolutely everything in the shop is $2 and you'd be amazed at all the arts/crafts in there. not your typical dollar store - it's all japanese and super funky.

you can also check out art-friend in nee ann city - great selection.

There is a great art store on the third floor of the Bras Basah complex. Anything you can't find at Daiso, or Spotlight, you can probably find at Art Friend
