How about buying computer / electronics in SG?

Post by stacey » Mon, 17 Nov 2008 7:32 pm

Should I upgrade the computer I currently have and move there with a fairly new computer system, or are computer/electronic prices there in SG reasonable...

More specifically, I'm talking about Apple/MACS

Are the prices or import fees in SG decently fair or it is like alcohol and cars? :)

Prices are better in the US than in Singapore. Bringing over already owned personal stuff, including computers not subject to tax. Just make sure your computer and peripherals run on 240V. Most everything should. However, also note that it costs a hell of a lot of money to ship stuff... if you are talking about a desktop system and you are paying for shipping it really might not be worth it.

i heard if it's new, then it's different... although I would be buying a "new for me" (used) desktop and/or laptop comptuer.... even if I dont upgrade, I still have to take the ones I currently have....
