local primary schools

Post by sunar4e » Fri, 14 Nov 2008 4:25 am

hello all,

i read in this forum that expat children can go to local schools.
my question is: are all of the expat children allowed to go to local schools, or only children of parents who earn less than S$ 2500 per month can go?

i ask you this because, i think that is what was on the MOE website about expat children going to local schools.

any information will be much appreciated, because i find all International Schools way too expensive for me!

thanks in advance

Any expat child can go to a local school if you are "chosen" during the third stage of ballotting--or have an "in" with the local principal. We've been extremely pleased with our daughter's transition to local schools. I've never been asked about my salary--although they do ask for your profession and workplace.

Expat children can definitely enter local primary school provided they pass their AEIS or PACT & QT Test and it is also dependent whether the school has any vacancy for the student.

The third phase for registering your child in a local primary school is for those entering primary one level only.

I hope that I have answered your query. You can always ask again if you have any problems or questions.
