Reading Club - Irrational Thoughts

Post by gasigogi2 » Tue, 11 Nov 2008 10:43 am

Hi All,
I hope everything is going good for those who read my message.
My name is Jeong Haekwon(Ted) and I come from Korea. I am in Singapore to find a job and possibly build a bright future like you all.
I have spent more than a month in Singapore and the experience has been exciting in its own ways.
The reason that draws me to write this message is that for past few days I have been juggling around an idea of starting a book club
The idea is simple since I am weak in English and I want to increase my knowledge so I think the best way is to start from books.
Sometimes it becomes boring if we go on just reading and don’t interact or share your thoughts on things which you read.
Well as we all know that by sharing we increase our knowledge base too.
Therefore I think one of the exciting way could be meet up and share what he/she is reading or has read or want to read in the future and not to forget your thoughts related to it.
It could be general meet up at a good book shop or a coffee shop for an hour and have a simple discussion.

If you agree with my thoughts and want to give a try then please drop an email to me. I am keeping the place of meeting open for now.
We can narrow it down on a general consensus.
I am excited to meet some really great literary brains, so what are you waiting for shoot-up a mail to me on what do you feel.
Feel free to let me know your thoughts.

Below is my e-mail adress.

There is already one started by docta123. Please refer to thread - Anyone interested in a Book Club?

Next book club meeting is this Saturday noon, please PM docta123 for further info. We are reading the Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini.

Cheers,
