HDB with first time grant OR Fire sale Condo

Post by hannah teo » Sat, 08 Nov 2008 7:52 pm

hey,
wana ask for some opnions.
what are the chances of condo prices going down in near future?
and by how much? and which area?
i know the market sentiment is that it will not go up in the next 3-5yrs.
do you guys think it is the case? or dependent on location? and if so where? and does it make good investment sense if we are lookin at 3-5yrs return of investment period?

Am actually contemplating between the options of Condo buying or HDB buying at the moment. looking at when to buy and where to buy, how to buy to make the most return.
HDB buying will get first time grant.
But condo prices are going down. might be missing the chance of buyin condo at fire sale low price.
At a loss. Anyone any advises? Any quick calculation or numbers/figures to look at??
appreciate it

Hi Hanna

If you can wait for a few months, it will be good. You will be able to get a condo at a lower price. Those condo that is more expensive, will be selling at a bigger discount, depending on the holding power of the owners.

I guess it will be better if u can wait.. But there are quick fire sals taking place already. :)

Cheers

Rithish :)
