Cost of leasing a car

Post by RolandDSilva » Tue, 04 Nov 2008 6:37 pm

Would anybody be able to help me with some info on the cost of leasing a car in Singapore ? I was told SGD 2000 p.m. (approx) for a mid size sedan (e.g Toyota Corolla) and up to SGD 4500 p.m. for a high end sedam (e.g Mercedes E 220). Is this accurate ?

Thanks.

Hi Roland,

Well, to my knowledge, the cost to lease a car per month is highly dependant on the Cost of the vehicle and its OMV(Open Market Value). I for example leased a Saab for 2 years from Eurokars Leasing as they had a good rate for it. The rates in general are very competitive in Singapore. Keep searching, i'm sure you'll find a good deal. Good Luck!

it really depends how long you need the car. Otherwise hire taxi or max cab should handle pretty well at lower cost
free time? do something!!

Hi, we just moved here and need to rent a car as well. Any updates on the cost from your research?

We have one child and are looking for a mid sized car

Thanks

A friend of our is paying $1800 pm for a Suzuki Vitara.

I am not convinced however that renting is the way to go personally, well not imo and my situation anyway.

You can buy a 2 year old car, say a Rav4 for $56K, low interest rate of say 2.68% over 48 mth's, 8 year of COE left. I know you have depreciation etc, but at least at the end of the 48 mth's you have something to sell. I know you have road tax and Ins to, but even with all that I am sure you would be better off. I surpose if you didn't think you will be around in two years it might not work out as well.

Please let me have others opinions, I am very new to all this and might be missing the big picture completely.

Sorry for going off track slightly, just thought it might be something to consider.

Cheers Hookedtothenet
