Teachers in International Schools

Post by atko » Mon, 03 Nov 2008 9:35 am

Hi, I'm a primary school teacher from Australia. Was looking for some help with getting a job in an International School....

Is it easier to apply directly to the school or through an agency, if through an agency what are some good ones????

Do you have to negotiate salary with the schools?

Is the turn over in the International Schools high, do they employ alot each year????

And...what type of salary would I expect for 5years exp in Australian & UK and a masters????

Looking foward 2 any help anyone has!!!
Cheers

Hi there,

would advise you to apply thro the school directly. Education system in Singapore is a bit rigid and as such, the candidate must posseed some recognised education qualification before acceptance to the post.

Enclosing here is the list of International School, wich you can try to send them your resume.

You could help yourself, by looking at previous posts about this subject. I'll answer a few of your questions. . .
You approach the schools directly.
Your salary will be decided by the school, you don't get to negotiate.
Turn over depends on the school, some have more than others. Your contract will be for 2 years.
Salary varies per school.
Good luck!
