In my opinion, as much as u can smile or even create a small talk while or when hending in your resume does not make any difference because i did as much as i could and it all didnt work out. For Qatar sorry to say, everything depends on luck, luck, luck and LUCK! I mean im not trying to be smart or anything but how much of info can u get from just looking at a resume? As at the end of the day it all boils down to that individual wether or not he or she can talk and handle situations if they were to be selected. And that can only be known from them asking us the questions. I wish all the people that has been selected all the best, and please dnt think im saying anything to any of you, im just maybe disappointed on how they handled the selection. But anyways it aint going 2 hold me back as im going to keep on trying!! Our greatest glory in humanity is that we are able to rise up every time we we fall! And rise we shall to this occasion! Jeff, Bangkok ah next!! Its time to hit the jackpot...

hi everyone.. yes i agree that when applying for a cabin crew position, one must persevere... if the first time, second time, 3rd, 4th etc, dont succeed, we will just have to keep trying until we get our lucky break. hehehe. right? :D

Og, I would wish to reply to you on PM but it says here that i have to have a certain amount of post before i could reply to any PM's. Anyhow, i wish you all the best in your endeavours with Qatar, i have so many friends who are flying for Qatar already, and so far all of their feedbacks are good. they even encourage me to keep on trying. I have one friend who failed to be selected 4 times before he got his break...

Og and dannyoi_84:

May ask you some questions, What are your backgrounds? Do you have any background in the service line or customer service relations? i heard it helps to be being shortlisted to the next round if you highlight this in your CV.

During the 1 on 1 interview, what were the questions posted to you guys?

Any tips to be noticed during handing in the CV in the first round, because i beleive its the make or break point in order for us to be called for the 2nd round. And in the 2nd round, what are the do's and dont's inorder to pass for the final interview...

I hope you would share some tips... :)

dannyooi_84,

Congratulations for making it. If i may ask? how many guys where there in the last two rounds? what were the ratio between male and female?

dannyooi_84

Yeah maybe youre right, i might have misinterpreted Ms. Audrey, but her way of answering questions during the general Q and A were sometimes funny to the point of being misinterpreted by me as Sarcasm... but it doesnt matter anymore, in retrospect, i have learn something during this entire experience which is to persevere and to not give up.

Hi,

I've no background in customer service... was a storeman, a despatch rider and my last job prior to the interview was in banking operations. I didn't have much work experience or tertiary education to impress the recruitment officers but I had straight As for O levels and i guessed that did help...

Final interview is about personal experience.... Family life, previous employment and more about-you-questions... "What will u do if you are treated unfairly by a senior crew?"

I hope this helps.... Anyway, i did not take up the qatar offer due to reasons such as CPF, National Service and further education. After reading a lot of posts on this forum, I come to the conclusion that we will never know what the recruitment officers are looking for.... its like the da vinci code.... "u tink u know but u may never know..."

Mikouno30, I worked before as waiter and in mostly in F&B line, and even in the construction line. I'm a diploma grad only. Basically, what I think is qualification wise is not really that important. I feel that they don't feel impressed by your straight As or 4.0 CGPA, even if you are genius. If you read through many forum regarding airlines interview, you can see many whined why they have a degree and all that super results, and yet they can't pass. Anyway this is my POV, I guess some might disagree with me.

Regarding the numbers, for the 2nd day of interview there are roughly 48 candidates for the morning session, around 12 guys and the rest are girls. I don't have a clue about the numbers for the afternoon session.

This is roughly how things went:

|2nd day|

(1)English Test - 48 of us went through the test and at the same time, one by one is called out to do the arm reach test. The interviewers might ask you one or two questions or none at all. The english test is quite easy though, basically test you on grammar, vocab and many more. There is an essay as well. After the test we are asked to leave the room. We're asked to enter the room 15 minutes later.

(2)1st Group Discussion - The interviewers mention about the english test results, and suprisingly alot people failed it. Then we're asked to divide into 2 groups, and each group consist 20 over people. Just imagine how chaotic where everyone try to say something. Total mess! I managed to raise some points though. Some just don't have the opportunity to say anything at all. I even tried to help them by asking them what they think about the topic and all. After this, we were asked to leave the room and come back 10 -15 minutes later.

(3)2nd Group Discussion - The 1st elimination starts here. Results are out and luckily I'm able to proceed. Thank God. Left 12 of us only. The interviewers gave us 2 typical scenarios topic for us to discuss. Same thing again, we're asked to leave the room and come back in again for the results. Too bad 2 girls was eliminated, so left us, 4 guys and 6 girls.

(4) Final Interview Briefing - Just inform us on what to expect and also asked us to retake our passport and full length photographs, and gave us all the necessary documents as though we made it already. Hehehehe.

|3rd day|

(1) Final Interview - asked mainly about my current job and also about my family. No scenarios question at all. Others were asked scenarios question. I think basically they want to know you more personally. Finished my interview in approximately 20 minutes. It is long, but when you are inside talking, you feel as if it is only 5 minutes. Miss Audrey is the one that asked me all the questions, while miss joel (don't know correct spelling or not) is jotting down something. Ya, both of the interviewers is so friendly, you just feel comfortable as if they are your good friends.

So now 1 week has passed already, and I'm still waiting for the results. I guess by this week or next week I should be able to know the results already. Praying hard.... :)

Hope this helps Mikouno30.....

hey, jst wanna share the interview process with qatar airways on the 6th dec @the KL recruitment drive.

1st Day - we were seated down n given a presentation and a video to watch and it was submission of individual resume- while submitting the resume we were asked a few simple question ( answer with a smile)..lol.. and we were then sent home to wait for the call. I received my call at abt 5.20 pm to go for the afternoon session ( 2.30 to 5.30 pm the following day)

2nd Day - there were abt almost 40 of us for the afternoon session, then we were asked to sit for an english test as well.. and an arm reach test is also conducted while the test is going on. ( Make sure u listen out for ur name and number carefully - and don;t rush towards the interviewer, jst walk calmly and confidently- cos they are watching u as u walk and judging from there , hence try to reach as high as possible , girls are allowed to tip toe with the heels on ( will be asked to remove shoes if the heels are to high) and guys mst have their feet on the ground with shoes on.

After the english test, we had abt 15 mins break and then through to a group interview.. it was abt 20 to a group and were given 2 questions.. 1) senario based 2) a personality question , we were given 12 mins to come out with an answer but we need not present it to the group or the interviewers.. while the discussion is goin on, the interviewers are walking ard observing us. After the discussion was completed, we were asked to wait outside for abt 20 mins.. then called in the room again, they only selected 14 of us i think for the next round.

We were then asked to leave the room , say our goodbyes.. and come back in the room again after 5 mins... then continued on with another group discussion 2 senario based question were posted to us.. 12 mins to discuss.. after that we jst casually present our answers to the group and interviewers, then we were asked to leave the room for abt 15 mins.

After that they called us in , and read out our names n numbers.. suprisingly all 14 o us got thru.. so no one was eliminated.. and we stayed on for a briefing for the final interview.

3rd day - final interview.. its a 2 on 1 interview mine took abt 30 mins... and basically questions based on ur application form and about u.. jst be urself and be natural... and we were told to wait for an email regarding our results in 3 weeks time!!!
