Where to find hardware supplies (screwdrivers)?

Post by Tony_Melb » Thu, 30 Oct 2008 4:42 pm

Sorry to sound so vague, but I've only been in Singapore about 4 weeks. Back home (Australia) we have huge hardware chains virtually everywhere eg Bunnings, Mitre 10 etc, where you can buy hardware items, tools, etc.

Is there any equivalent here in Singapore? I need a set of screwdrivers and don't know where to go.

Tony, for basics - suggest you try Home-Fix. They have a website with all their locations here:

Also, Mustafa's have quite a selection. They can be found here:

Note also that power tools (top of the range stuff like DeWalt and Bosch Professional) are incredibly cheap here in comparison to Oz.

I got a great home tool kit from Ikea, it was about $30 for it and contained a screwdriver with about 10 different sized ends that can be swapped in and out to fit any sort of screw as well as the usual hammer, needle nose pliers, wire cutters and a few other bits and pieces.

It works great for the little bits and pieces i need to do around the house
