I doubt you will find anything for that price and if you do it will be a fleabag of a place. Try Asiarooms or Expedia.

nowadays hotel rates are increasing, so doubt u'll be able to find a SGD150 room.

am a hotelier, so my advise is to go thru online travel agents.
www.booking.com
www.ratestogo.com
www.asiarooms.com

can try thou. good luck! :)

Post by molihua » Sun, 09 Nov 2008 10:15 am

well, orchard hotel are from s$200 ++ per nite.

Bugis also good to stay as mrt and bus transport in spore so convinient.

Bugis hv bencoolen hotel, City bay view hotel and many good ones just go there an dlook around. sometimes on internet they do not tie up.

google hostel and you can find some decent homestay in spotiwood park.
if u cant find on goggle then yahoo search. dorm bed is $25 per nite.

Oh yes the YMCA at end of orchard road is good to try. Are yr frens young or abv 50 yrs? Bcos the younger ones can just stay anywhree in hostels or backpacker

i think there is one expat who run a hostel in a hdb in Woodlands(north spore) area.

Chinatown and Tiong Bahru small hotels

Post by molihua » Sun, 09 Nov 2008 10:21 am

oh yes, Now I remember.

1. There is a new hotel in Tiong Bahru for budget traveller but has no name.
You can see a long white bldg.

Chinatown has many boutique hotels. $150 can get a very decent one.
Yr frens may love to stay there as can migle with the locals and soak in the colonial architecture. Smith street and Food Street many souveniers like fans, batik clothes shirt, antiques, fans, tees, chopsticks sets.

Also can get massage. i think in the area the Tourism also put in some museums and restaurants. So you can shop eat and See all at the same time.

Have fun. Singaporean are very nice and friendly people.
