Handphone help for my 7 year old

Post by spunk_mom » Tue, 28 Oct 2008 11:32 am

Hi, need help on a problem I’m facing with my 7yr old daughter. I’ve given her a handphone so that she remains contactable, but recently I realized her handphone bill has soared over the months. A check on her handphone showed that she called and received calls from quite a lot of unknown numbers –

I’m quite concerned as I’d like to know who these people are? Does anyone know of any service in the market that allows me to control my child’s usage on her handphone?

Yeah, a High card. Once it runs out no more calls. Limit her to ex dollars a month. When it runs out she is out of luck. However, I'm not sure what a 7 year old needs a handphone for in the first place? :???:

Where are they gonna be where they won't have access to a normal phone? (without the parent or a adult minder at least).

Isn't it easier to just ask your daughter who these people are that she's been contacting? Alternatively, I think you are able to get a list of her handphone caller list from the service provider since she is only 7 yrs old.

Re. controlling her handphone bill, you can get her those stored value sim card e.g. hi card (singtel), you will have to top up when the stored value runs low. Just top up $50 (or whatever amount you think is appropriate) each time to control her spending.

She is too young to be responsible with a handphone. You as her parent are showing us how irresponsible you are by giving her one! Why would she need one? Either you or your helper/driver should be picking her up from school and bringing her home.
