If malls are your thing I would say shopping in KL is better than Singapore, they have nicer and newer malls, Pavilion, The garden in mid valley, and KLCC at the twin towers, but KLCC is getting a bit long in the tooth now.
But for just general fun shopping in china town, petaling street etc. (touristy but fun).
Genting, well if you think Sentosa is one large and nasty theme park, Genting is even worse. Just a mish mash of bad buildings and rides at the top of the mountain. But having said that, being at the top of a mountain means you have stunning views, cool air, and hiking trails. (you can visit the tea plantations)
Singapore is the geeky, violin playing, calculator crunching cousin of KL who is more like the pierced, tattoo covered, party loving bad girl.
Public transport is a joke, and be prepared to sit for hours in a traffic

Like wad QRM had said, it would be wonderful having trip to both places. I believe spending a day at the high mountains of Genting with fresh, cool air and nice, hot tea would be enthrilling. Continue that with a wild time of food and shopping delights in the mystic streets of Chinatown in KL and some shopping in the mega malls should close the chapter of kl trip nicely. Enjoy your trip.

My suggestions for hotels are to take the ones near to chinatown. They are easy access to bustling activities of daily life in this hip part globe.
U might wish to take a look at Ancasa Hotel or Swiss-Inn (Not Swiss garden). These 2 offers value for money accomodation and with the extra monies. U can feast on the goodies all around.
Pros on choosing there is the access to puduraya bus station where u can head back singapore in a jiffy. Walking distant lrt (mrt) stations ard 400m away from nearest star or putra lrt lines. With the lrt, u can go places like klcc and bukit bintang. Or take a metro bus near the busstop next to watson tt sends u to sunway pyramid which cost u ard rm3/pax.
Whereever u choose, jus be careful of your belongings cos there are lotsa pickpockets everywhere. Enjoy people!

hii thanks !! I thought of taking Aeroline and then take Corus hotel. It seems there is a discount if you take together .. however.,.. Five Stars 18 seater coach a bit cheaper compared to Aeroline...

There is coach to kl everyday. Go beach road or chinatown to find the available seats.

I'm more of a KL person.
Imagine,
theres KLCC, Pavillion, Sungei Wang, The Star, Mid valley and so much more shopping centres to go !
Genting only has a casino to play with. And if you've been to themeparks like Disneys, theirs won't even catch your attention.
In KL, more food !!!
Usually when I go Kl, I stay with my friend in KL which is why I like it there. More places to shop, eat and see !!
=)
You may try aeroline. I took that bus up like.. since i was 22 ? It operates daily and your alighting points vary as well. SGD47 per trip and it includes a meal on board. Best thing is, its very comfy !!! And no bullies on board. Most of the other passengers are malaysians or "angmohs"

the bus driver.. like very scary.. drive damn fast at nite.. i m a cat.. dare not to take. lol.
but if ur like kevin, i'm sure 5 stars would be good to try..
