Always go natural, that's the best  Oral supplements don't really help, but a daily balanced diet of all food groups will be very beneficial in the long run. :D

Not that simple... do some search and you'll see that there is no concensus on Vit C. Anyway it doesn't harm as long as you don't take too much (like most of the things by the way).

:o but total lack of vitamin C is proven to provide a host of diseases, just like the total lack of any minerals and vitamins?!

http://www.umass.edu/nibble/infofile/limey.html
Three hundred years ago, a sailor on a long voyage would likely not return home alive - not because he might be slain by pirates or die in a storm, but because he might develop the dreaded disease scurvy. A British doctor found that a daily ration of lime juice would prevent the horrible softening and bleeding of organs, tendons, skin, and gums that led to death for sailors. Sailors got the nickname "limey" from this practice. Today, it is known that the sailors' scurvy was caused by vitamin C deficiency. Because fresh fruits and vegetables could not be stored on board, lime juice provided the vitamin C the sailors needed.

Vitamin C is an important anti-oxidant, helps protect against cancers, heart disease, stress, it is part of the cellular chemistry that provides energy, it is essential for sperm production, and for making the collagen protein involved in the building and health of cartilage, joints, skin, and blood vessels. Vitamin C helps in maintaining a healthy immune system, it aids in neutralizing pollutants, is needed for antibody production, acts to increase the absorption of nutrients (including iron) in the gut, and thins the blood. Just to mention its most important functions.

http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency ... 002404.htm
Vitamin C is required for the growth and repair of tissues in all parts of your body. It is necessary to form collagen, an important protein used to make skin, scar tissue, tendons, ligaments, and blood vessels. Vitamin C is essential for the healing of wounds, and for the repair and maintenance of cartilage, bones, and teeth.

http://home.howstuffworks.com/vitamin-c1.htm
Vitamin C is important to all animals, including humans, because it is vital to the production of collagen. Vitamin C is also important because it helps protect the fat-soluble vitamins A and E as well as fatty acids from oxidation. Vitamin C prevents and cures the disease scurvy, and can be beneficial in the treatment of iron deficiency anemia.

Definitely taking a supplement is good if you eat out all the time at food courts and if you buy cut fruits as the C value is all lost , left in the open for hours.

I used to take GNC's 1000mg VitC, but since moved to Kordel's 1000mg for a few months now. Works just as well.

Not a single day of out-of-action...
