Careful not to overdose. Our body can only absorb so much in one day, so eating more pills than recommended won't do anything

yup thats right. A vit C pill usually contains 500 or 1000 mg. overdose is estimated to be around 2000 mg

OMG, please stay away from those synthetically derived Vitamin C like the brands you mentioned above.

I've learnt that most vitamin C (you can tell when they are cheap - for the wrong reasons!) marketed out there are ascorbic acid. Ascorbic acid is an isolated nutrient that is part of Vitamin C but not the whole Vitamin C! totally misleading when they claim 1000mg. In fact, these synthetics are not the most bioavailable form of Vitamin C hence your body will only absorb about 5-10% of mg equivalent; the rest needs to be processed as waste by the kidneys.

Please look for natural based vitamin C usually derived from acerola, which has greater bio-availability. Yes they cost more but you'll be absorbing most of the mg as claimed. Plus it's safe for the kidneys in the long term.

I see these days some of the vitamin Cs also come together with pre/pro biotics. Yes they cost more but are safer for long term consumption.. just my two cents worth
