Where to go for New Year?

Post by surreymum » Fri, 17 Oct 2008 4:03 pm

I have recently moved here and am looking for an island resort nearby to go to over New Year.
All the hotels on Langkawi are booked, I can get a villa on Koh samui but no flight.
My husband hates Bintan, and my in-laws live in Penang (so I'm not going there!!)
Does anyone know of any places close by (within 2hrs flying) that would be good to visit, (I have 2 kids, a very high maintainance hubby and 2 friends and child coming out from the UK). Price is not necessarily an issue, but it can't be too rural or underdeveloped as one kid is a diabetic coeliac!!!
