Hi , this is my first post here.
Has been a fan of this forum.
I need advice and help in finding banking job here in Singapore.
I know current situation making it even harder to find one job in the bank.
However, I am optimistic, nothing is impossible.
Here is my details and what I have done :
1. I am a Singapore Permanent Resident
2. I am holding a Master of Finance degree. I am not quiet sure whether it is equivalent to GCE 'O', 'N', or 'A'?
3. Have been applying numerous jobs from jobs websites without any luck.
My questions are :
1. Are the jobs posted in those websites are real?
2. Is it because I am a mother who intends to go back to work with 4 years gap which makes it very very hard to get a job. (No ones want to hire me?)
3. What is the wisest way to nail a good job within banking or financial industry here in SIngapore
4. Is it necessary to update my qualification since I dont want to spend alot of money since they are really expensive
I would welcome any advice.
Many thanks in advance

Well done on getting back into the work force and being optimistic!
Within the industry what are you hoping to get involved in?....

Which university did you get Masters of Finance? A recognized degree will make a big difference.
Plus, you said that you are returning back to work. Were you working in bank before? If yes, what role were you performing then? And are you looking to go back to similar role or are you looking for something entirely different?
I am pretty sure that many of the jobs posted are for real, but at the end of the day, it also depends if you have relevant experiences and how much you expect to get remunerated.
Despite the supposedly bad situation, I do think there are quite a few banking jobs around.

Hi, thank you guys for all the replies.
I graduated from Australia and my previous employment were all in Australia.
I was in customer service area in retail banking before , my last job was a mix between customer service as well as assistant to relationship manager.
I am hoping to step in to investment banking for a career change.
My biggest reason to return to work is to gaining more experience and knowledge and slowly build up my career. Therefore, numeration is not my biggest concern.
Can you recommend any employment agency who appreciates someone in my situation because I am not confidence since there is 4 years gap in my work history.
Many thanks
