I am also badly constipated due to PG, found something works
I am now taking fiber supplement...
The one I am using is not cheap consider that I take 2 packs per day. It costs $14 per pack (30 sachets)
Reason why I am using it is because when I took the med from doctor, I can't stop the embarrassing you know what.

I tried, believe me
You can't believe how much veggi and fruits (including prune, papaya...) I am eating everyday and it ends up more expensive (considering that I am eating out monday to friday) and not really working and plus you are in danger of downing too much sugar. A big portion of fruit will definitely cost you more than 2 dollars per day. Anyway, of course considering the good value of nutrient in fruits and veggi I am still having good portion of them without doubt but just add in the fiber supplement.
Fruits like strawberries/papaya has little frutose inside, as long as it doesn't taste sweet.
Fruits that you might want to take note is Mangoes/watermelon/apples/banana, these are high in frutose if you're concern.
Moreover Papaya is inexpensive - 1 whole fruit is about a dollar or so and you can have 4-5 big wedges from it.
Cut it up into a lunchbox and put it in the fridge and bring it to work the next day if cost is the concern - its not that hard to prepare nor is it time consuming.
Other natural fiber supplementation you can use is flax seeds and nuts - peanuts are legumes actually.

constipation
lentils are really good for constipation or even dried prunes. I suggest increasing fibre in your diet or maybe taking fibre supplements, should do the deed. Best advice is to not take laxatives for a prolonged period of time. Can cause some serious side effects eg. bowel malfunction, electrolyte imbalance and in severe cases people have died from it
Re: Constipation
For me, i've been using g3 the superfruit juice and also probio PCC...works well for me so far

Fruits for Breakfast
I take lots of fruits like papaya, crytal pear, apple, banana for breakfast everyday and do a simple tai-chi routine for an hour. It helps in the bowel movement. Hope this help.

Constipation
You may want to try colon hydrotherapy, a safe and effective method of removing waste from the large intestine. By introducing a small amount of water into the colon, the waste is softened and loosened, resulting in evacuation.

Funny but true. A bunch of people at work decided to go to Kukup, Malaysia for a weekend getaway. We ended up gorging on lotsa food.
Malaysian: This is mung bean soup. It's rich in fiber.
Indonesian: Really? If I eat a lot of this, would this help me 'go' in the morning?
Malaysian: Huh?
Indonesian: Because ever since I arrived in Singapore I've been having some trouble in the morning.
Me: Really? Me too. I thought that was just me.
Indonesian: Because in my country, you eat the wrong food and you end up with diarrhea.
Me: Yeah, that's the trouble with third-world countries like ours.
Indonesian: Maybe because Singapore is too clean because it's a first world country?
Me: Nah. I've been to Japan and I never had that problem there.
So yeah, I guess we need help.

Papaya seeds
I heard a radio programme a few years back about how the papaya is such a great fruit. The African lady who was discussing it maintained that everything from a papaya tree is has its uses.. I was amazed, because she said the seeds are a great laxative. Well I began to eat some each day, they tasted pretty awful and didn’t seem to help me. Then it occurred to me that I shouldn’t be chewing them but instead to just swallow them whole. Voila an amazing remedy, which I have been enjoying ever since, along with lot’s of water.
