OK, so the cafe/restaurant at Borders at Wheelock Place on Orchard at 13.30, Saturday 01/Nov sound good to everyone?

And just to get the ball rolling, how about we start off with 'The Kite Runner' by Khaled Hosseini. Just in case anyone wants to start reading just now, however, this book does not have to be finished by the first meet. We will be discussing it at the second meet as this is quite short notice.

Some libraries do have this book but it appears to be very popular. 'Popular' do stock the book though.

Sounds good, I'll be there.

...And since I recently read the kite runner I can have a lazy slow start in this book club : )

No probs to start with kite runner though, it's a very good read. In a group of reading people we are bound to have someone who has read the selected book before. As long as it's not too many of us that have read it we should go ahead with it.

ooh count me in!
I've just read it but like docta, have a leaky pregnant brain so have forgotten most of it by now. Will re-read and see you guys there.

K, do text me to remind me - if you can remember

Ooh, and someone else may have the Border's preferred card too but I'll bring mine in any case because we get 10% off the food bill with it.

Hi

I have been searching the web to look for book clubs to join and saw your post.....

Is it too late to join? I myself am also reading the "Kite Runner" but am a rather slow reader due to committments to my part time studies.... It will be good to be with friends who enjoy the same hooby as me to exchange thoughts with......

Am 35 Singaporean living in the North East region in Singapore.....

Ok so looking forward to seeing you all at 13.30 tomorrow at Borders Cafe in Wheelock Place. Just incase people need someone to look out for, I have red hair and I'm very pregnant.

Damnit I have just seen this thread and won't be able to make it tomorrow, please let me know when the next one is and I will surely be up for it. I will try and get The Kite Runner over the weekend, it sounds quite good.
