MOULD damp SMELL ON CLOTHES IN DRAWERS, CLOSETS.need advice!

Post by theodoros » Mon, 13 Oct 2008 6:19 pm

hello was wondering if you know how to get rid of bad smell and mould on clothes inside drawers and closets, cabinets.
its really annoying to clean everything and in a couple of weeks to have this unpleasant mouldy smell.

cabinets ,closets and set of drawers are all newly bought so its not that the old wood brings the bad dampy smell..

tried to put aromatic sachets or charcoal products but nothing works.
need something stronger please especially for our drawers.

need your advice

regards

Try silica gel satchels. Remember to dry it out once in while with the microwave to keep it working. You will have to replace them eventually but they should keep working for quite some time before you have to do so.

The original '' THIRSTY HIPPO'' will do fine everywhere,
you find them in the better supermarkets, we are using them, and keeps us happy.... and dry....

I try to open all drawers and wardrobes at night to ventilate, and keep them open all night. It is working so far. Touch wood.

I used to have this problem.

Later on, I realised it's because I didn't dry the clothes very very thoroughly before keeping them inside the drawers.

Now I will sun them, and leave indoors for about 2 days to let the wind blow dry before keeping them inside the drawers.
I will also get moth balls to put inside the drawers. So far, everything is all right.
