Post by pippa4 » Wed, 08 Oct 2008 2:37 pm

i have a daughter, 8, she has a cochlear implant, we have only recently arrived in Singapore. Does anyone have any information on schools that accept Dutch speaking children with cochlear implants?

Hi i know that Singapore general Hospital and KK Women's and Children's Hospital and National University Hospital has strong implant programs and they will have the resources you need in terms of schools and other educational facilities. You could try contacting the implant programs through the hospitals (try goggle their websites)..i am sure they will refer you to schools that their kids have gone on to..
otherwise i know of CI kids who have attended normal mainstream schools...you may have to speak to teachers re: use of a FM device or something like that? hope this helps
