Experience with LMB Housing

Post by Fabio77 » Thu, 02 Oct 2008 11:31 pm

I am considering an explorative trip to Singapore: stay there 2-3 months seeking a suitable job.

I need housing at a reasonable price, and an Internet search turned out this agency, LMB Housing.

Their prices aren't exactly popular (1300-1400 SGD/month for a room in a 2-bedroom shared flat, including only part of utility bills), but they offer hassle-free service - they will take care of the legal aspects and all paperwork.

Anyone has experience with them? Pros, cons, scare stories?

The thing is that they offer Serviced Apartments and not plain vanilla flat. Their rate includes a lot of extra service on top of the rent (cleaning, cable TV, wireless internet access, maintenance, etc...). So this is not a good option if you're staying for more than 6 months (you can handle all these yourself) but if you don't want to bother with all the sh.. to set up cable, electricity, water, aircon maintenance, internet access, etc... (even though this is pretty straightforward to do in Singapore) this is a nice alternative.

They have a testimonials section there with quite a few good reviews from former customers (not that you would expect them to publish bad ones but still).

I hope this helps...
