Hello all, I have just registered on this forum.
I am 31, I have degree in industrial chemistry and PhD from a reputable British university, but not much work experience.
In Italy the job market for the chemical sector is just dreadful; offers are few and far between and more than one has been cancelled due to administrative decisions.
For other, personal, reasons I am evaluating the possibility of going to Singapore for a while in order to seek a suitable job.
Anyone here can help?

If you have a PhD from a reputable university recognized by MOM then I suspect that you would have a relatively easy time getting an EP simply because of top tier educational credentials.
Getting the job is another matter. If I were you I would do some web searching with keywords like 'Singapore', 'consortium', 'biotechnology', 'pharmaceuticals', 'nanotechnology', 'water', 'incubator', 'government invested'.
What you will discover is that Singapore has invested a lot of money into long term programs in all the above keywords. They have hired the best out of American and European universities with offers of high salaries, well funded labs, no teaching loads, and an opportunity to participate in profits of successful programs.
This would be a starting point for employment at the level I expect you would like to be employed.
Cheers.

EP = Employment Pass, the magical piece of paper needed to work here. Companies must apply for it, MOM must grant it, based upon the assertion that local talent cannot be found.
Cannot tell you much about private industries at all. You'd need to choose some companies you might be interested in, see if they have Singapore offices, then see if they did the kind of work you want to do.
You might also contact the local universities to see what sort of contacts they have into the industry.
