She is 14, she has dreams - why knock the kid?

Condo life is much better than HDB life because of the reasons she mentioned . . .

As Road.Not.Taken said . . . study hard and get a good job so you can afford a condo later . . . like when you're 18 . . .

. . . or so.

Everyone here is from Uruguay, except SMS, he is from Oldsville

by the way, i browsed around this thread and no one seems to have answered the question (i can be wrong, as i just scan thru the posts) anyway, just in case:

walk·up also walk-up (wôkp)
n.
1. An apartment house or office building with no elevator.
2. An apartment or office in a building with no elevator.

executive
(as an Adjective)
1. having the function of carrying plans, orders, laws, etc., into effect: the executive producer
2. of or for executives: the executive car park
3. Informal very expensive or exclusive: executive cars

for executive, #3 seems to be the one you are interested in.

about your age and so, well, the first time i moved to my own place (with housemates) i was 17, so you can be near there if you choose that...

Hey V. , don't know about the Oldsville, but I used to have an Oldsmobile! (a 65 Cutlass 442 Convertible) first car I owned after returning from the NAM.

candy sweetheart, im local and i honestly feel embarrassed by you and for you. (now here's another discussion about Face.)
I hope you are doing this for comic relief, right? Is there an approved list of dreams that people can only be allowed to have? Do we want to go down that route? The next thing you know, people are only allowed to use the restroom at certain time of the day.

Ever heard of Brownlee? She said "to do good things in the world, first you must know who you are and what gives meaning in your life".

And what about Shakespeare? He said "This above all: to thine own self be true".

And EF? She said "Life is yumilicious". Oh actually, that's me ! :P

I just saw Disney On Ice celebrating 100 years of dream making. And Waltz Disney said

"When you wish upon a star
Makes no difference who you are
Wheather you are Americans or Singaporeans
You are entitled to dream
Even if it never materializes"

Ooops, I accidentally added the last few lines. I though I would throw in some bonus material. Sorry for the silliness. Halloween is around the corner and it is affecting my mental faculty  .

missed that out...

anyway, thanks EF for pointing it.

candy, there is nothing better than making the majority and the acceptable standard feel embarrassment by you and your actions. it means you are doing something right as an individual.

there is a fine line between "face" and "masks"... i recommend to use your face to stick your tongue out at the community.

nice ones, in that train of thought, i will recommend to start your day with "To Hope" by Keats

halt halt halt!

well i did choose to advice (as like all the previous posts) along the lines of conventional safe advice. but it doesnt represent my entire take in life. because there's a thought for every circumstance.

advice should be given based on the attributes of the receiver. when she's older and more mature and motivated to work towards her dreams, then the advice that "even if you drop out of school, doesnt mean you can't get where you want to one day" will work.

but she clearly is just teenage lamenting her beginning lot in life and not doing a thing about it and hoping it falls from the sky. thus my advice as such. im not judging, she's 14, that would be unfair. i'm just stating. and i never said its wrong to dream.

i believe in dreams of course. one of the few reasons for living. :)

and philosophically life's but a dream because when you wake up the next day, all your past days are nothing but memories, much the same as thoughts or dreams. and thats why we hand on so strongly onto material possessions/proofs. and life can be viewed as both the continuous accumulative process or as the moment now.

ok, for misunderstanding your intentions i apologize.

but you will have to admit that what you wrote before and what you are writing just now are very different statements, at least in the way it was expressed, deal?

its kind of sad, actually that whoever she is, must come to a public forum in order to get advise... this generation, im telling you... sad.

yeah its ok. i admit my previous tone was harsh.

every generation tends to look worst than the other in the eyes of the previous. but almost everything in life follows a general U shape. what goes down, will come up. either the generation will mature or the next generation will be better. life goes on, pepsi generation or not.

She'll be back. She comes and goes. Have to give it to her, she's persistent and thick-skinned so she should do well when she matures a little more.

I think she has the focus of a laser beam. Maybe she's just too busy house hunting . Or maybe already found the condo of her dream and don't need us anymore. :P

MO, she is seeking help from forum because her real life (her mom) disapproves of her choice. I have been there and done that.
