Vietnam - HCM City - Oct 26 to Nov 1

Post by davidy » Tue, 23 Sep 2008 3:50 pm

Hi,

I will be travelling to Vietnam during this period. I haven't got any firm plans yet. Thinking of going to HCM City, Dalat and Hue and Hui An. Alternatively, chill out at HCM City and Hanoi.

Anyway, if anyone is also keen in travelling to Vietnam for the first time during the same period. Maybe we can explore the places together.

Pls PM me if interested.

Cheers
D

Hi DavidY and welcome to the forums!

We've travelled quite extensively through Vietnam so happy to give you some pointers if needed.

Hi sierra,

I am interested to go Vietnam next year. Have been to HCMC. Thought of travelling to the middle areas & northern parts. Do you have any recommended places?

Hi Teddz and welcome. Certainly recommend a trip from HCMC up to Hanoi, taking in Dalat (mountains), then pretty much follow the coast all the way up. Plenty of places offer small group travel, however much of it depends on how much time you have. We did a HCMC trip to Hanoi with Intrepid Travel (check their website), and that gave us a great look at the various parts and cultures in Vietnam. We also spent 10 days either side going to different places.

Post back if you'd like some other ideas. HTH, P

Thanks for the input, I have seen the site. I find it too breif as I would rather explore the place myself. I have been to HCMC thus would prefer to start from the middle like Nha Trang or Dalat. Moving upwards.

Planning around 14 days for the trip. Mostly free & easy as I prefer to explore. I am more into villages than sightseeing, thus would like to see Sapa & Hue. I am not too familar with the other states & the costs involved.

I am not too sure of other states with other different tribes, thus can you please advice. (not too remote)

Thanks

Tedd - did you check the individual trip dossiers? They are fairly detailed.

I think you can get an domestic flight on Vietnam Air from HCMC to Nha Trang - best bet then is to go to one of the local travel agents and organise your onward transport. Alternatively, get the Reunification Express, and I think you'd then get off at Hue and make your way back down the coast.

For Dalat, you can get a public bus up there from HCMC.

Much of this depends on how you like to travel, though!

PM me your e-mail addy and we can discuss further.

HTH, Mr. P

Travel to Vietnam

In my opinion, if you don't have enough time, Da lat can be optional. You can take a trip from Ho Chi Minh city (Includes Cu Chi tunnel, Mekong Delta and then head to Nha Trang , Hoi An and Da Nang.

For more choices, you can visit this site: http://keytovietnam.com

Good Luck
